With direct debit your total bill is paid automatically from your bank account on the due date so it's easy to take advantage of your 15% prompt payment discount. To set up a direct debit go to My Account to download the Direct Debit form and use the free post code that we have provided to send it back to us. If you currently prefer paying your bills online, you can add MegaEnergy to your list of payees. When you receive your monthly bill, simply go online and transfer the due amount. Our bank account detail is:

If you're experiencing difficulties paying your energy bill, please call us on 09 9121200 or 0800 634283 to let us know your situation. There are different options available to make things easier. We can discuss setting up a payment arrangement or you can pay the same amount every week, fortnight or month, based on your previous energy usage, or put you in touch with social agencies such as the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services who offer advice and budgeting help, or Work and Income and the Citizens Advice Bureau - they'll let you know if you're entitled to financial assistance.

If you or someone in your home use medical equipment powered by electricity, and the disconnection of electricity could endanger their wellbeing, please contact us to discuss whether you're medically dependent. We need verification of your medical dependency status from your doctor; we'll also need to record this important information on your account.
